If client users access internet via a proxy server, because all internet traffic will pass through the proxy server, so WFilter is able to monitor and filter client users internet access when WFilter is installed in the proxy server.
In this guide, we will demonstrate you to deploy WFilter with WProxy. WProxy is a proxy server which supports "HTTP Proxy", "SOCK5 Proxy", "SMTP Proxy" and "POP3 Proxy".
Install WProxy and enable it's proxy services.
To make client devices to access internet via WProxy, you need to change clients internet settings. For more details, please check "Detailed Proxy Client Settings".
WFilter shall be installed in the same pc as the proxy server. You also need to add the proxy server's ip address into "local servers" in "System Settings->Monitoring Settings->Network Definition" of WFilter:
Now WFilter will monitor all proxy clients
